The Coast Guard has destroyed drugs worth Tk 46 crore in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar. These drugs include 9 lakh 5 thousand 490 yaba and 60 kg 225 grams of marijuana. The destruction of these drugs was started at 12:15 pm today, Friday, in the presence of the magistrate, Coast Guard, BGB, police and representatives of the Narcotics Control Department.
From February 27 to April 16, these drugs were recovered from the BCG stations Cox’s Bazar, Kutubdia, Teknaf, St. Martin and Dal Outpost Shahpari under the Coast Guard East Zone in 12 anti-drug operations conducted by Coast Guard units and RAB.
Coast Guard Teknaf Station Commander Lieutenant Commander Salahuddin Rashid Tanvir said this. He said that Bangladesh Coast Guard has been patrolling 24 hours a day to maintain law and order in the country and prevent drug trafficking. Such operations of the Coast Guard will continue to prevent drug trafficking.
Coast Guard East Zone Zonal Commander Captain Mohammad Shahin Majid, Cox’s Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Asad Uddin Md. Asif, Shri Gyan Tanchangya, Assistant Director of the Narcotics Control Department Cox’s Bazar Sifat Ullah Tasnim Alam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Teknaf Police Station Mohammad Gias Uddin and others were present.
